Have yourself a merry little Christmas!

Christmas is such a whirlwind of activity and if your not careful it will slip right past you. It's almost as if it was never there except for the hurried family photos and wrapping paper strewed over the floor as evidence. This year was no exception for me so I'm now on a mission to enjoy the rest of the holidays and to ring in the new year. How you ask? Well I'm just relaxing..not worrying about how clean the house is or rushing from house to house visiting relatives. I'm slowing down, taking in all festivities from the comfort of my sofa! The main thing that I'm doing is stitching..I've actually picked up Mira's Bluebell and enjoying I'm happy to report that I'm loving it! This is how much I've done this year..

I'm hoping to put a good dent in her by the new year!

"These are a few of my favorite things ".. Gotta love Julie Andrews!

My fur baby on my tree..looks just like Cody!

This is the present my son gave me. It is engraved with the words "Your My Angel". I cried!

I love my village especially this piece!

Yes I have this thing for church's!
It's getting late here so I'm off to grab some delish homemade soup and see if I can't stitch some more! Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday!

December, Snow and Santy Collars!

Hi y'all ....I can't believe it's December and I haven't posted since Oct.30th! I'm such a naughty blogger. I do have some very good reasons though. My 18 year old daughter Jessica finally got herself employed about a month ago at The Body Shop. She absolutely loves working there and making her own money ...ok so is her father! She is saving up for university in January.

Here she is hard at work! Look at that smile, no wonder she sells so much and her co-workers have nothing but praise for her. I'm so proud.

Next we have had a couple of huge storms in the last couple of weeks. We had so much rain last week that people here had their basements flooded and lost a lot of stuff. Streets were closed and roads were washed out. Now over the weekend we were dumped on with snow. This is a pic of my back yard covered in 4-5 inches of the white fluff as I call it. My mom has another name for it but I can't say it here! Lol!

Gross but my hubby love it! I say he's a bit on the insane side but oh well.

I have to close this post with some pics of my fur babies. The black poodle is Cuddles and she's 13. Cody is a white 3 year old male and he's a huge sook! They just came back from the groomers and have their Santy collars on! Aren't they just adorable!

We've been sooooo good all year Mom!!!

Hopefully I will have a pic of an updated wip..my injury a work is giving me problems so I haven't been able to stitch like I want to. Till next time and happy stitching, Michelle

The return of mojo!!

Mister Mojo has finally returned after months of away time! He showed himself Sunday evening as I was getting ready to work my night shift. Needless to say I'm thrilled that he's back and have put in some stitches on my wip, A Christmas Carol. Not much mind you, ( I have 16 patients to look after) but I'm still pleased with my progress thus far.

As you can see the next house is nearly finished and the roof is stitched on the next house. This is a fun stitch!

On another note I managed to find time to get my hair cut today in between getting ready for Halloween. It took my hairdresser 15 minutes to cut and style my hair! This is the second time I had my hair cut like this and it's so easy to maintain!

It's not the best pic in the world but iPad takes horrible pictures anyway!

I'm so glad to have people reading and following my blog. I have 5 followers now and I'm really happy about that. I look at many blogs and I see a lot of you have hundreds! Wow that's amazing to me. I would be thrilled at 20! So a BIG thank you to my readers and followers! Now I'm going to put a dent in my project and see if I can get those houses stitched! Wish me luck! ..oh by the way, mojo is  now chained firmly by my side!  Happy Stitching!

Prince George's Christening Family Pic with mum and dad!

I'm a huge royalty nut. Er fan! I've followed the royal family since Lady Diana married in 1981. Don't ask me why I love reading about them, I can't explain it. Everyone agrees I'm totally crazy but there it is. I've been called an old woman for cross stitching too but do I care..no way! Yesterday was little George's big day and I have to say I was glued to Facebook and the news for a look at the baby prince. Today I'm in love with the official pictures released and this is my favorite one of George, Kate and William.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince George.

Until next time, Michelle

Lost mojo, the Headless Horseman and A Christmas Carol

Hi y'all ...can't believe a week has gone by and I haven't put in one single stitch. Nope not even a little bitty one..am seriously thinking my mojo has hitched a plane ride south in a desperate bid to be rid of me!! ..sniffle...I'm really missing it. I would file a missing persons report with the police alas I don't remember what mojo looks like. In any case I will show you my plans for stitching this fall and into the Christmas season! Gasp!! Yes I said the dreaded C word!!
Can't believe Halloween is just around the corner. I am in love with the tale of Icobod Crane and the headless horseman. I can't help myself from watching the Disney cartoon every year. It's like a ritual, every Halloween I have to watch Icky and Charlie Brown! Yes my inner child comes out at holidays and occasions and I'm magically transported back to my childhood which is welcome break from being a responsible adult! Unfortunately the spell is soon broken and like Cinderella I'm back in rags with a smashed pumpkin at my feet.

This is Sleepy Hollow by The Cricket Collection. I'm going to stitch this design on Stephanie Bishops Banshee 18 count Aida. I'm totally in love with this design which makes me wonder why I haven't put any stitches in yet?! The scissors are awesome as well.

Primitive Hares A Christmas Carol

As you can see I've actually stitched some but haven't picked up this design for quite some time. I'll start A  Christmas Carol right after Halloween is over. I'm determined to finish this before the holidays! These are one of my favorite pairs of scissors. I got them from Anita's Little Stitches. She's fabulous! I highly recommend ordering from her.

Time to shove off and see if I can spot mojo lurking around...the little creatin might actually come back like the prodical son!! Til next time..happy stitching!

Welcome to me!!

Wow, I've finally taken the plunge and joined the blogging world! A little scary just because I haven't got a clue as to what I'm doing! Lol
First, the introductions. I'm Michelle aka Sweet Pea! I'm 40 something, wife to a wonderful man for 23 years, a nurse and mom to Josh (21) and Jessica(18) and to two adorable poodle fur babies! I love to cross stitch and have enough stash to last me til doomsday!
Why did I name my blog Sweet Pea? Well in a nut shell I'm calling everyone sweet pea..so it just seemed a great fit. I love reading stitching blogs! I can spend HOURS looking through stitcher's blogs. I have read about Cathy's (Pumpkin) battle with cancer and how she passed away yesterday. I have never met her even through the blogging community but I have thought about her several times over the last week or so and was truly saddened by her death. My heart goes out to her family.
As this is my first post I'll forgo trying to add some pics of my wips! Until later, happy stitching!
